CHRAPA helps its partners at the grassroots to establish democratic systems and also challenges the duty bearers (government) to uphold the principles of human rights and the rule of law.

The peace and Security Council Resolution 1325 (SCR1325), was adopted by United Nations Security Council on 31 October 2000.

Good governance is based on the will of the people and is the form of democracy best suited to allowing all people to live in dignity and freedom. This is also emphasized by the 55/2. United Nations Millennium Declaration a Resolution adopted by the General Assembly. Democracy requires a rule of law framework where by all citizens are involved.
